GAMING JOBS
The renewal of the state’s gaming compact is being negotiated right now, behind closed doors. The potential negative impact on thousands of New York jobs at existing casinos and gaming facilities across the state cannot be understated.

We need your support to raise awareness and take a stand against this potentially detrimental agreement.
Seneca Nation has a long history of empty promises, economic deceit and arguably corruption. The gaming operations of the Seneca Nation have been the subject of various agreements and disputes with the state of New York. The tribe initially paid a portion of their gaming revenue to the state as part of a compact, but disputes arose over the terms of revenue-sharing agreements. In 2017, the Seneca Nation halted payments to the state, leading to legal battles and negotiations over revenue sharing. Their current efforts to drop a Vegas-style Class III casino in Rochester, without any conversation with local communities threaten existing jobs in gaming and horseracing.
The Seneca Nation already operates three major casinos, which offer slot machines, table games, food and entertainment. These have provided hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for the tribe’s governmental operations, infrastructure and social programs, and after much litigation, previously promised payments to the communities in which they reside:
-
Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino: Located in Niagara Falls, NY, and opened in 2002.
-
Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino: Located in Salamanca, NY, and opened in 2004.
-
Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino: Located in Buffalo, NY, and opened in 2007.

Greed is leading the Senecas to try to add an unwanted new facility to the Rochester area, despite research has shown an already oversaturated gaming market. Their greed threatens the livelihoods of hardworking casino and gaming employees in upstate New York.
